My Review (Spoiler Free)
The Average American Male bills itself as a true inside look at the brain of the average American male. According to Chad Kultgen, average American men are obsessed with sex to the point that it is the only thing that they can think about. The book was overall decently entertaining and follows an twenty-something year old man in California. Throughout the book, we are offered a front row seat to every thought, motivation, and memory of the narrator. We are with him through every step of each of his days. Kultgen keeps the narration open, honest, and flowing. Overall, the story of this book is not afraid of the satire. At the end the reader can come away with a sense of needing to be better than the average. This book got 2 stars from me, because I did not like the ending and the general flow of the book could have been better. To be fully honest, the book was going to get a 3 from me up until the last few chapters.
