My Review (Spoiler Free)

Piranesi is an interesting little novel. At its heart, the novel asks questions about what it means to be human and live in the world as we know it. Piranesi lives in a world that is filled with tunnels, alleyways, water, birds, and bones of the dead. He takes his world at face value, not questioning much, and interacting with the only other person he sees, The Other. What unfolds in this book is an unraveling of the human experience. This story can be viewed through a variety of lenses: grief, loneliness, mental illness, and still many others.

Overall, the book rambles a bit to get to the point, which, admittedly, fits with the author's world-building. I found it hard to keep my attention for long periods of time. I don't regret reading the book, but it is not one I would necessarily pick up again.
